Bill Ward

I’m Bill Ward, and as the Top Dreamer at Topshelf Design, I have dedicated over 20 years to the art of inventing and designing innovative toys, games, and consumer products. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of bringing to life a wide range of products across categories like feature plush, board games, arts and crafts, and novelty items.

My work has led to the development of successful and well-recognized products such as Flipazoo Magic Tails, Happy Napper Sleepy Sack, and Corner Crush. I have partnered with leading toy companies, licensing my designs for distribution in major retail markets worldwide. My goal has always been to create products that not only engage and entertain but also have commercial appeal and lasting impact.

Before fully committing to product design, I spent over two decades running a restaurant and hostel in Ecuador. This experience taught me invaluable lessons in entrepreneurship, creative problem-solving, and the importance of connecting with people. It also fueled my passion for bringing ideas to life in a practical, yet imaginative way. I’ve lived in diverse environments, from a cabin in Alaska to bustling international cities, which has greatly influenced my creative process and perspective on design.

 

​When I’m not designing, I enjoy paddle boarding, fly fishing and indulging in my love for chocolate.
